Fall Behind: Daylight Saving Time Ends

Set back your clocks and do a fire and CO detector safety check.

Don't forget to set back your clocks Saturday night, well, technically Sunday morning for "fall behind" a.k.a. the end of Daylight Saving Time. No, you didn't read it wrong, the official spelling is as spelled above, without the "s", since saving is used in the same way as saving a ball game, rather than as a savings account, according to this website.

Most of the US begins Daylight Saving Time at 2 a.m. on the second Sunday in March and reverts to standard time on the first Sunday in November, also according to the Daylight Saving Time website.

The Firemen’s Association of the State of New York (FASNY) reminds residents to use Daylight Saving Time for annual safety checks. They suggest that residents change the batteries in their smoke alarms and carbon monoxide (CO) detectors at least once a year – a simple step to ensure they are working properly – and also to check those detectors and determine whether it’s time to replace them outright. Smoke alarms and CO detector should be installed near sleeping areas, as well on every level of the home, including the basement.
