U.S. Marshals on Wednesday arrested the man they say killed Stony Brook resident Ross Reisner in a Sept. 24 shooting at the victim's Upper Sheep Pasture Road home.
A 29-year-old Mt. Sinai man who police said was in possession of the psychedelic drug known as Molly was arrested in Port Jefferson. According to police, the arrest occurred at 11:45 p.m. on Roessener Lane. He was charged with misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh-degree.
More than two dozen drivers were snagged for driving infractions by Suffolk County police Tuesday morning during a traffic enforcement exercise in the Mt. Sinai/Coram area. Police issued 28 summonses on County Road 83 between Coram and Mt. Sinai between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.
A 46-year-old Holbrook woman died Saturday morning, the victim of a hit and run on Veterans Memorial Highway, police said. At around 12:40 a.m., Cheri Larrydale was crossing Vet's Highway at the Broadway Avenue intersection when she was apparently hit by a car or truck, police said.
An East Patchogue man has figured out how to catch a thief. The Blueberry Lane homeowner discovered and held an intruder on his property Wednesday, Suffolk County police told Patch. According to police, the homeowner, who has not been identified, received an alarm notification and upon returning home saw a 20-year-old man coming out of his backyard.
Suffolk Police are investigating a possible hate crime that involved graffiti at a Sayville town park. A swastika and an image representing a pentagram were discovered drawn at Foster Avenue park area on September 25.
