Crimes Nearby: Police Seek Woman Who Used Stolen Credit Cards

Incidents from the past week as reported by Suffolk County Police.

• Police Seek Woman Who Stole Purse 

Fifth squad detectives are seeking to identify a woman they said stole a Michael Kors purse from a vehicle in Oakdale on April 21. 

According to police, a woman stole a black leather purse that contained a wallet, credit cards and cash from a Nissan Pathfinder that was parked near the Locust Avenue Town Ball Fields. 

Later that same day, police said the woman used one of the stolen credit cards at 2GO FOOD in Lake Ronkonkoma and also used it at Kohl’s in Lake Ronkonkoma.

Police describe the woman as white, in her 30s or early 40s, heavy set and about 5 feet 7 inches tall with brown hair. She was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt under a light-colored coat.

• Police Seek Man Who Assaulted Another 

Crime Section officers from the second precinct are investigating an incident in Huntington Station in which a man assaulted another man on March 16.

According to police, a Huntington Station man was riding his bicycle on New York Avenue when an unknown man assaulted him in front of the Huntington Public Library. 

The 31-year old victim fell and hit his head. He was taken to Huntington Hospital where he received stitches. 

Police describe the suspect as light-skinned black or Hispanic, between 20 and 30 years old with black hair. He was wearing a light-colored vest and tan pants.

• Suspect Stole Cases of Energy Drinks   

Crime section officers from the sixth precinct are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the man who stole several cases of energy drinks from a Selden supermarket.  

According to police, a man entered Shop Rite at 71 College Road on February 28 and loaded five cases of Red Bull energy drinks into a shopping cart and left the store without paying. The drinks have a retail value of $219.

• Bicyclist Hit By Car Suffolk County 

Police are continuing their investigation into a crash on Wednesday morning that sent a Coram bicyclist to the hospital with serious injuries. 

According to police Frank Sciulla of Rocky Point was driving a 2003 Ford southbound on Mount Sinai-Coram Road near the intersection of Pine Road in Coram when his vehicle collided with bicycle that Ian Rhodes was riding. 

Rhodes was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries. Sciulla was not injured. 

The Ford was impounded for a safety check.
