• Wallet Stole From Shirley Dollar Tree
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and detectives from the Seventh Squad are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate a woman who stole a wallet from the Dollar Tree in Shirley.
According to police, on Thursday, December 27, a woman purchased items at the Dollar Tree at 800 Montauk Highway, and accidentally left her wallet at a checkout counter. The woman returned to the counter a short time later and discovered that her wallet, which contained cash and credit cards, was gone.
Police said that surveillance video revealed that a woman that was standing in line behind the victim took the wallet, put it in her pocketbook and left the store.
The suspect is described as a black female with shoulder-length hair. She was wearing boots and a black jacket.
• North Face Jackets Stolen
Crime Stoppers and detectives from the Riverhead Police Department are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate a female they said stole six North Face Denali jackets from the Sports Authority store in Riverhead.
According to police, on Wednesday, December 5, at approximately 2 p.m., a black female was seen walking out of the Sports Authority store at 1160 Old Country Road, pushing a red shopping cart. As she walked out, the security sensors that were attached to the jackets triggered an alarm. When store personnel checked the sales floor, they discovered that six North Face Denali jackets that were on a display rack were missing. The total value of the jackets is estimated to be more than $1,000.
Police said the subject is a short, heavy-set black female in her mid-30s, wearing red pants, a black jacket and a black hat. Surveillance video shows that she was accompanied by a black male who appears to be in his early 20s, approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall, wearing black jeans and a grey hooded sweatshirt.
• Stolen Debit/Credit Card Used
Crime Stoppers and Seventh Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to find two women they said used a stolen debit/credit card at multiple locations.
According to police, a Mastic woman reported that her debit/credit card had been lost at an unknown location. The card was later used to make four purchases at various locations, including by two women at the Marshalls at 999 Montauk Highway in Shirley.
Two additional attempts to use the card were unsuccessful.
• Stolen Cash, Inspection Stickers
Crime Stoppers and Sixth Squad detectives are looking to find the person who they said burglarized several Mavis Discount Tire locations.
According to police, a man robbed four Mavis Discount Tire locations in October and November 2012 in Centereach, Shirley and Smithtown and stole cash and New York State inspection stickers.
The man is described as white, in his 50s, bald with a stocky build.
