Crime Report: 11 Arrests Reported this Week
Recent police activity in the area as reported by the 5th Precinct.
The following information is taken directly from the Suffolk County Police Department's Media Incidents list regarding Sayville and West Sayville. None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime, but were arrested for the charges listed below. All complaints listed are only alleged crimes under local investigation.
ARRESTS:
- On Feb. 7, David Safran from Freeport was arrested in Sayville for possession of a forged instrument.
- On Feb. 7, Dean Strong from Sayville was arrested in Sayville for unlawful possession of marijuana.
- On Feb. 8, Daniel Doller from Sayville was arrested in Sayville for criminal possession of a controlled substance.
- On Feb. 10, Lauren Kane from Sayville was arrested in Sayville for petit larceny.
- On Feb. 11, Michael Zimmerman from Ronkonkoma was arrested in Sayville for aggravated unlicensed operation.
- On Feb. 11, Cheryl Marks from Sayville was arrested in Sayville for DWI.
- On Feb. 11, James Byrnes from Sayville was arrested in Bay Shore for criminal possession of marijuana.
- On Feb. 14, James Lampert from Sayville was arrested in Sayville for harassment.
- On Feb. 14, Carlos Vargas from Brentwood was arrested in Sayville for unlawful possession of marijuana.
- On Feb. 14, Jimmy Vargas from Bay Shore was arrested in Sayville for criminal possession of marijuana.
- On Feb. 14, Adam Gromling from Sayville was arrested in Bohemia for aggravated unlicensed operation.

INCIDENTS:
- On Feb. 8, an incident of aggravated harassment was reported on Macon Avenue in Sayville.
- On Feb. 10, an incident of grand larceny was reported on Main Street in Sayville.
- On Feb. 12, an incident of criminal mischief was reported on Candee Avenue in Sayville.
- On Feb. 12, an incident of burglary was reported on Andrea Lane in West Sayville.
- On Feb. 12, an incident of grand larceny was reported on Division Avenue in West Sayville.
- On Feb. 13, an incident of criminal mischief was reported on Macon Avenue.
- On Feb. 14, an incident of harassment was reported on Montauk Highway in Sayville.
- On Feb. 14, an incident of harassment was reported on Tariff Street in Sayville.
