Blue Point FD: Prankster Responsible for Three Rubbish Fires

Blue Point Fire Department extinguishes three garbage fires in Blue Point early Wednesday morning.

The responded to three separate small fires on Atlantic Avenue in Blue Point at 4:31 a.m. Wednesday.

Chief Doug Cibuls and Assistant Chief John Erdman were first on scene to report a pile of burning newspapers left out at the curbside for morning collection.

While en route, 2nd Assistant Chief Eric Ferraro reported a similar fire on Barteau Street. A third rubbish fire was found a few hundred feet down the same road - all three the apparent work of the same person or people. All three fires were quickly extinguished by engines 5-2-2 and 5-2-6.

I live on Weeks St. which is off Atlantic I am assuming the same prankster set my recycable can with papers in it on fire Wednesday morning.
