B-BP Crime Report: DWI, Assault & Jewelry Stolen in Burglary

A list of recent police activity in Bayport and Blue Point as reported by the 5th Precinct.

The following information is directly from the Suffolk County Police Department's media incidents list regarding Bayport and Blue Point. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

ARRESTS

July 22, 2012

Mark Hyder, of Bayport, was arrested in Bayport and charged with criminal mischief with intent to damage property.

Howard Watlington, of Bayport, was arrested in Bayport and charged with criminal contempt.

Aramis Sr. Morales, of Blue Point, was arrestee in Central Islip for criminal possession of a controlled substance, grand larceny in the third degree.

July 20, 2012

Jesse Walters, of Bayport, was arrested in Patchogue and charged with DWI.

Oscar Perez, of West Babylon, was arrested in Bayport and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle.

July 18, 2012

Eric Greiner, of Blue Point, was arrested in Patchogue and charged with asssult with intent to cause physical injury with a weapon.

July 16, 2012

Norman Nixon, of Blue Point, was arrested in Blue Point and charged with operating a motor vehicle impaired by drugs.

July 22, 2012

An Edgewater Avenue resident reported criminal mischief.

July 21, 2012

A Terrace Road resident reported damage to a vehicle.

July 19, 2012

A Corey Avenue resident reported an incident of harassment.

July 16, 2012

A Tucker Drive resident reported a burglary in which jewelry was taken.

Petit larceny was reported on Montauk Highway in Bayport.

July 14, 2012

An Eatondale Avenue resident reported criminal mischief.

And so the taxpayer is once again asked to give more to an already out of control and bloatedRead More system. Every year the school districts on Long Island receive increases of millions of dollars to their budgets, and still they want to bleed the taxpayer for more. As two income families struggle to pay exorbitant tax bills, we’re asked to pay even more? We’ll here’s a novel idea, how about if the teachers union’s began demanding less? This early retirement baloney must stop, salaries should be capped, administrators and their staffs must be cut by at least eighty percent. In addition, educators and staff should have to pay for their own medical and retirement plans just as the rest of us must. Here on Long Island, families are suffering and sacrificing, and many are being forced to leave due to taxes which are out of control. It is time for educators to cease hiding behind children with threats of decreased student programs, and to make an honest and realistic observation as to why things are as bad as they are. To blame parents for not paying enough into the system to support the schools is ludicrous. The real problem lies in a system which is self serving, and run by incompetents blind to the harm they are inflicting upon our children and families.
