Assailant in Grey Horse Tavern Attack Gets 8 Years in Prison

Male who beat musician at Bayport bar has pled guilty to first degree attempted assault.

A 26-year-old man has pled guilty to attacking a musician last year at the Grey Horse Tavern in Bayport and has been sentenced to eight years in prison.

Police say Jalaluddin Khojandi, of Hicksville, beat Michael Hargreaves, 40, with a crowbar as Hargreaves left the Grey Horse Tavern around 4 a.m. after a performance on July 31, 2011.

Hargreaves suffered a skull fracture and head cuts, according to police reports.

According to the district attorney's office the defendant pleaded guilty to attempted assault in the first degree.  District Attorney Thomas Spota said in addition to the upstate time in a correctional facility, Khojandi will serve five years post release supervision and a permanent order of protection was issued for the victim.

The district attorney's office said Khojandi was mad about issues involving a relationship with a female who attended the Hargreaves performance.

And so the taxpayer is once again asked to give more to an already out of control and bloatedRead More system. Every year the school districts on Long Island receive increases of millions of dollars to their budgets, and still they want to bleed the taxpayer for more. As two income families struggle to pay exorbitant tax bills, we’re asked to pay even more? We’ll here’s a novel idea, how about if the teachers union’s began demanding less? This early retirement baloney must stop, salaries should be capped, administrators and their staffs must be cut by at least eighty percent. In addition, educators and staff should have to pay for their own medical and retirement plans just as the rest of us must. Here on Long Island, families are suffering and sacrificing, and many are being forced to leave due to taxes which are out of control. It is time for educators to cease hiding behind children with threats of decreased student programs, and to make an honest and realistic observation as to why things are as bad as they are. To blame parents for not paying enough into the system to support the schools is ludicrous. The real problem lies in a system which is self serving, and run by incompetents blind to the harm they are inflicting upon our children and families.

It's a drive-through bank.

I heard it was a bank some time ago, but I can't imagine which bank would run a construction projectRead More so poorly.
