Around Town: Sayville Spruces Up for the Holiday Weekend
Everywhere you looked Friday afternoon someone was trimming, mowing, hanging or cleaning up.
A stroll down Main and back roads north of Main showed tons of activity as shopkeepers, homeowners and the local Fire Department was out and doing something to get lawns, yards and businesses prettied up as the holiday weekend looms.
The communities of Sayville and West Sayville are putting out the ribbons and bows along Main Street to welcome home troops and it's giving the downtown area a real patriotic feel as homeowners are doing the same.
The finishing touches are going on the refurbished Carvel shopping center with actual store names now appearing.
