Visions for Vacancies: Reader Feedback on Country Store

Ideas from readers included a sandwich shop, 5-and-10 and wine bar.

The first installment of Sayville-Bayport Patch’s  on Monday asked readers to share their thoughts on what they would like to see fill the current vacancy at Coming Home to Country.

Several readers offered feedback in the story’s comment section. One reader suggested a gourmet sandwich shop and another said a music store. Reader  is sure of what business she doesn't want to see at the location.

"Anything but another blasted bank!" she stated, referring to the ongoing construction of two new banks in the Sayville-Bayport area (TD, Sayville and , Bayport).

Karl added that a good old-fashioned "5-and-10" would be great.

"What I would love to see in many towns across the country is a "Made in USA" store where there is a multitude of products, but all goods are made here. Pipe dream I know."

Other reader feedback included:

- We have one of the best music departments on Long Island but no music store. A music store right here in Sayville would be great.

- A gourmet sandwich and soup shop!

- A family deli would be awesome. Paul's Deli I believe was the business at this very same location back in the 60s and 70s. I'd prefer to see a deli similar to Paul's open up.

- What about a wine bar? There's one in Northport and it's always packed.

Share your thoughts on what you would like to see at Coming Home to Country in the comments section below.

It's a drive-through bank.

I heard it was a bank some time ago, but I can't imagine which bank would run a construction projectRead More so poorly.
