Talk Back: What's Your Take on Tattoos?

What used to be a sailor's thing is now going mainstream. Are you a tat or non-tat person?

The recent tattoo convention/conference/trade show at Nassau Coliseum, as evidenced by a great photo gallery from Patch's own Smithtown Local Editor Peter Verry, illustrates that the tattoo is in vogue, at least with some people.

What's your take? Is it a fad? Is it something you've done and why, or won't ever do?

Take our poll and comment below and feel free to upload pics of your tattoo to our Pics and Clips gallery.

They used to be for military, bikers and convicts, but they're so mainstream now, what's the difference? Do what you want, but proceed with caution...

A lot of tattoos people get are for very personnel reasons as are mine. The thing about tattoo is that people have them done for themselves and not for others and respect that some do not like them thats ok

I must say that based on the picture that was presented with the tatoo.
The tatoo is OK... The foot a "0"....... You could have posted a better pic for the story....

The decline of a society. Trash.

Freedom of expression. I personally love them. I have 4 with more on the way. I say live and let live. If you don't like them, don't get them and don't judge the people who do have them. Would it matter if the person saving your life had tattoos? Probably not.Just because a person has a tattoo doesn't make them trash. It is a form of art to some people, and I guess a form of trash to others. That's what makes the world go 'round..... :)
