Former Sayville Resident Robert P. Wilson Dies

Robert P. Wilson, Jr., of East Islip, 62, died on January 14, 2014.

Visiting is Thursday, January 16, from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Raynor & D'Andrea Funeral Home, West Sayville.

A funeral service will be held on  Friday, January 17, 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment to follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery, Sayville.

Born and raised in East Islip, Wilson moved to the Sayville area for several years where he raised his family, before returning to East Islip in 1997.  

Wilson graduated from East Islip High School. He obtained his Bachelor’s Degree at Rutgers University and went on to work for many years at La Salle Military Academy as a teacher, coach and as atheletic director.

He is survived by his four children; Meghan O’Leary and her husband Ryan of Bayport, Michael and Kevin, also of Bayport and Brian of West Sayville, his two grandchildren; Charlotte and Mackenzie, his mother, Claire, his sister, Carol Orlando and his brother John, all of East Islip.
