Why You Should Avoid Herbal Medicines Made in China

A new report alleges human remains are being used in herbal capsules.

This is not a column you may want to read. I didn't want to write it. But I think that for people who take herbal medicines from China, this is a very important column.

I am disgusted to inform you that human remains were found in over 17,000 supposedly herbal capsules which were imported into South Korea from China. Allegedly, the capsules tested over 90% human remains, not herbs. Even more alarming, these capsules may not be limited to Asia. They are being found all over the world as well.

Never before has anything I have read, witnessed or experienced so nauseated me. I was so horrified to learn of this that I have researched extensively to determine the truth. The hair is still standing up on my arms as I tell you, it is true.

Chinese medicine is 4000 years old, and many of their remedies are amazing.  They can teach us a great deal.  But even for a country where "human rights" are a sick joke, this is a bridge too far. It seems the manufacturers of these capsules are using the remains of aborted and stillborn babies for the purpose of "rejuvenation".

Many Chinese also have no qualms about consuming placenta for the same reason. When a culture equates the organs of bears, tigers and other animals with strength and health, it follows that they will consume these organs in order to attain virility and fertility. California black bears have been found in remote areas of the state, alive, caged and attached to IV's draining their gallbladders of bile for export to China. Tigers, so endangered there are only a few thousand left in all the world, are killed for their genitalia.

The same reasoning is used when slaughtering the rhinoceros for horn. The Chinese are cavalier about using endangered animals in their medications. They also consume dogs and cats. Vegans would certainly chide us for our consumption of any meat and the way it gets to our tables.  But this is not a case of the pot and the kettle. The addition of human flesh, and most horrifyingly, that of infants,  in so called "Chinese Medicine", is simply obscene. To present these vile capsules as "herbal" is not just a lie or deception, it is criminally despicable.

It is a grievous sin no matter if you are a devout believer or an atheist.  We live in a time of such moronic political correctness that even bringing these things up puts one at risk of being called a "hater" or "culturally insensitive".

I'm willing to take my chances rather than see any of my patients or readers become unwitting cannibals. I think it is just brainless to defer to any culture whilst devaluing our own, especially if it leads to the kind of social blindness where we are intimidated into abandoning our own principles so we don't offend anyone. Here is my sincere advice to all of you. Don't take any herbs from China.  NONE.

For decades, there have been ongoing issues of cleanliness and purity with medicines and herbal preparations made in China. The Chinese do not inspect their remedies as we do, and you can't trust what is on the label to be accurate.  Often you can't even read the label because it's in Chinese.  It is impossible for our own customs and FDA to inspect every batch of herbal medicine being imported from China.

Purchase your supplements, herbs and vitamins, only from well known companies here in the United States. Canada and Europe, where natural remedies are used and accepted as much as pharmaceuticals, also have stringent rules for content control and sanitation. If you make your own remedies and tinctures, buy your supplies from American certified organic sources.

If you are taking asparagus tea for your kidneys and it is of Chinese origin, stop and go on a cleansing fast with distilled water.  Use only organically grown asparagus and make your own tea. I have never used herbs from China in my practice.

If you are seeing any practitioner who uses Chinese herbal medicine, ask them where they get their preparations and demand only those that are domestically produced. There may be those who are crazy enough to tell you that there are no ill effects from consuming  body parts of your own species. Please tell them they are crazy. Putting aborted infant parts into "herbal medicine" is indefensible and criminal even if you come from another galaxy. When a country is exporting loathsome products which gravely endanger the health and well being of others, and it fails to police itself and it's tainted exports, the alarm must be sounded long and hard.  These heinous practices must be stopped.

There are many other articles available but not enough space to print them all.  A serious warning, this is NOT for the faint of heart or for small children.
