Bayport Civic Hosts BOE Contenders, School Budget Presentation

The Bayport Civic Association offered residents a look at the newly-adopted Bayport-Blue Point School budget for 2013-2014 at its meeting this week, and also invited Board of Education candidates to introduce themselves to community members.

School Superintendent Dr. Vincent Butera as well as finance chief Michael Cipriani presented an overview of the budget which will go to voters in May. Two incumbent BOE members, James March and Lenny Carmada, as well as BOE challenge Mike Miller, addressed the audience to discuss why they were seeking election and what they hope to accomplish if elected to a three-year term.
