3 Bands that I love (that you've probably never heard of)

I like music.  I like music a lot.  I listen to pretty much every genre and I love to share bands that I love with others.  Back in the day I used to make mix tapes which evolved to mix cds.  Now with the magic of the Internet I can post YouTube videos!  So check out these three bands that I absolutely adore!

Arcade Fire

Arcade Fire is my absolute favorite band (since 2004 at least).  You may have heard of them because they won a Grammy this year for Album of the Year for “The Suburbs”.  This 7 piece band of multi instrumentalists are based out of Montreal and have been described as “baroque pop”.  They incorporate many instruments ranging from guitar and violin to xylophone and hurdy gurdy.  Their albums are great and their live performances are even better.  One of the members of Arcade Fire is of Haitian descent and the band raises a lot of money to support health care services in Haiti.

LCD Soundsystem

LCD Soundsystem combines dance, punk, and disco to make incredible music.   Normally I would never listen to anything classified as “dance” but you can’t help but move to their songs. Sadly, they played their last show in April so you’ll never get to see them live.  Thank goodness for YouTube!

Fleet Foxes

Fleet Foxes is a relatively new discovery for me but I can’t get enough of this folk band.  Think CSNY with a more baroque sound.
