Sayville First Graders Send Greetings to Troops in Veterans Day Honor

Sunrise Drive students make sure troops know they're appreciated.

Written by Linda Mittiga/Sayville Schools.

First-Grade Teacher Danielle Baron and Social Worker Toni Fabian at Sunrise Drive in Sayville School District collaborated on an activity in time for Veteran’s Day.

“My students made a Veterans Day craft,” Mrs. Baron explained, “and then Mrs. Fabian asked if we would write letters to soldiers. My class wrote wonderful letters to the soldiers thanking them for what they do and telling them a little about themselves and what they dressed up as on Halloween. I think they are sure to spread some smiles when the letters are received!”
