La Tavola Trattoria is hosting a pre-event for Mitch's Run on Friday, July 15 from 6-10 p.m.
Mitchell Cangelosi died in August 2006 in a tragic car accident. A Scholarship Fund was established to benefit a student athlete from Sayville High School that exemplifies Mitch's spirit and dedication to academic and athletic excellence.
He spent seven summers as a lifeguard at the Point O'Woods community on Fire Island. As part of his workout each day he would run from the lifeguard stand at Point O'Woods to the stand at Sailor's Haven and back a distance of about 3 miles. We are inviting everybody to join us on Saturday July 16th as we walk or run the beach from Sailor's Haven to Point O'Woods and back. We are hosting the Mitch's Run Pre-Event at the restaurant, la Tavola, on Friday from 6 until 10. A $40 donation will include a BBQ cookout, Happy Hour drink prices, Live music, entry to door prizes. We will have Cassandra House playing from 6 until 10, games, as well as a 50/50 raffle.
