CARWASH Fundraiser/BBP,Sayville & PatMed Students Habitat for Humanity Build in Exmore,VA

Please support BBPHS rising seniors Avalon, Emily & Dean, and Sayville & PatMed teens as they fundraise for their  Habitat for Humanity build in Exmore, VA this summer. The teens are members of  YACS (Young Adult Christians), the youth group at St. Ann's Episcopal Church in Sayville. This inaugural trip was their  choice.  "We wanted to go somewhere rural, somewhere  we are really needed," said Avalon.

Exmore is on the DelMarVa peninsula and was once popular as a railroad stop on the way to Virginia Beach.  Now, despite its beautiful natural surroundings (Atlantic on one side and Chesapeake Bay on the other),  it is no longer a well known tourist destination.  Currently, one of  Exmore's biggest employers is a Perdue plant and many of its residents are at or below poverty level.

HFH has been building homes there since 1991, but this will be their first four bedroom home.  The YACs are looking forward to meeting the family as well as other members of the community.  The teens will be accompanied by three adult chaperones. St. Ann's YACs is a service club open to interested teens over 16.
