Blue Point Brewery "Movember" Fundraiser Kicks Off Today

Annual 'mustache' event at Patchogue brewery raises funds for men's health issues.

Heads up men! Looking to freshen up your facial style and do a good thing at the same time?

Then stop in at the Blue Point Brewery today, Nov. 1,  in Patchogue between 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and join the month-long Movember campaign (growing a mustache essentially)  to help fight prostrate cancer.

Last year the Blue Point Brewery “Movember” team raised over $15,000 for men’s health awareness. This year they’re hoping to top that achievement.

And yes, women can participate too. In fact a "Miss Movember" was crowned last year. The team captain is Curt Potter. To see who’s on the team so far click here.

For photos of last year’s fun check out the brewery’s Facebook page.

The event kicks off in the brewery’s tasting room. There will be hot towel shaves from the Long Island Barber Institute, pint specials for participants and lots of party favors and fun. The prizes include Blue Point beer and local gift certificates awarded at month’s end for Best Mustache, Top Money Raiser and other categories.
