Thursday - Saturday, November 8 - 10, 8:00 P.M.
Neil Simon's classic comedy montage Hotel Suites will be presented by the Sayville Players
the evenings of November 8, 9 and 10 in the Sayville High School auditorium. Experience the pain of jet lag, back spasms, and lost Wimbledon tickets in "Man on the Floor" (London Suite), the angst of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hubley when their daughter makes an unexpected life-choice in "Visitors from Forest Hills" (Plaza Suite), the trepidation of a middle-aged widow anticipating dating again with her daughter as matchmaker in "Going Home" (London Suite), and the joy and pain of two couples sharing the same vacation in "Visitors from Chicago" (California Suite). Performances will begin at 8:00 all three evenings and admission is $7 for adults and $5 for students. Senior citizens will be admitted free of charge with a Sayville U.F.S.D. gold card. And so the taxpayer is once again asked to give more to an already out of control and bloatedRead More system. Every year the school districts on Long Island receive increases of millions of dollars to their budgets, and still they want to bleed the taxpayer for more. As two income families struggle to pay exorbitant tax bills, we’re asked to pay even more? We’ll here’s a novel idea, how about if the teachers union’s began demanding less? This early retirement baloney must stop, salaries should be capped, administrators and their staffs must be cut by at least eighty percent. In addition, educators and staff should have to pay for their own medical and retirement plans just as the rest of us must. Here on Long Island, families are suffering and sacrificing, and many are being forced to leave due to taxes which are out of control. It is time for educators to cease hiding behind children with threats of decreased student programs, and to make an honest and realistic observation as to why things are as bad as they are. To blame parents for not paying enough into the system to support the schools is ludicrous. The real problem lies in a system which is self serving, and run by incompetents blind to the harm they are inflicting upon our children and families.
