On Columbus Day, The Harbor Crab Co. is hosting It's 5th Generations Bass Tournament to Benefit Ryder Chevalley. It's a full Day of fishing and fun that starts at 6:30 am. If your not into Fishing please come down and join us for Dinner and or Drinks at 5pm. All proceeds from this event will help Ryder who has endured 2 major surgeries and possibly may need more in the near future. Any donations can be made to Ryder Chevalley Fundraiser can be brought down on Columbus Day to the Restaurant, or mailed to 250 Gillette Ave. Bayport NY 11705. And so the taxpayer is once again asked to give more to an already out of control and bloatedRead More system. Every year the school districts on Long Island receive increases of millions of dollars to their budgets, and still they want to bleed the taxpayer for more. As two income families struggle to pay exorbitant tax bills, we’re asked to pay even more? We’ll here’s a novel idea, how about if the teachers union’s began demanding less? This early retirement baloney must stop, salaries should be capped, administrators and their staffs must be cut by at least eighty percent. In addition, educators and staff should have to pay for their own medical and retirement plans just as the rest of us must. Here on Long Island, families are suffering and sacrificing, and many are being forced to leave due to taxes which are out of control. It is time for educators to cease hiding behind children with threats of decreased student programs, and to make an honest and realistic observation as to why things are as bad as they are. To blame parents for not paying enough into the system to support the schools is ludicrous. The real problem lies in a system which is self serving, and run by incompetents blind to the harm they are inflicting upon our children and families.
