Guilty Pleasures returns to Bayport to support the 12U Phantoms on their trek to Cooperstown Dream Park Tournament!

With the events that occurred over the past few weeks we weren’t sure if we were going to go forward with this event- but it was decided that EVERYONE needs a night out to relax and unwind!

We will be starting around 9pm and will be playing pretty much all night!!! There is a $10 cover charge and all of the proceeds will be going to the team as they prepare for a summer tournament in Cooperstown! There will be a Chinese auction, a 50/50 auction and as always plenty of delicious food available at The Parrot!

And so the taxpayer is once again asked to give more to an already out of control and bloatedRead More system. Every year the school districts on Long Island receive increases of millions of dollars to their budgets, and still they want to bleed the taxpayer for more. As two income families struggle to pay exorbitant tax bills, we’re asked to pay even more? We’ll here’s a novel idea, how about if the teachers union’s began demanding less? This early retirement baloney must stop, salaries should be capped, administrators and their staffs must be cut by at least eighty percent. In addition, educators and staff should have to pay for their own medical and retirement plans just as the rest of us must. Here on Long Island, families are suffering and sacrificing, and many are being forced to leave due to taxes which are out of control. It is time for educators to cease hiding behind children with threats of decreased student programs, and to make an honest and realistic observation as to why things are as bad as they are. To blame parents for not paying enough into the system to support the schools is ludicrous. The real problem lies in a system which is self serving, and run by incompetents blind to the harm they are inflicting upon our children and families.
