Weekend Happenings: Tournaments, Scrimmages and Live Music

This weekly feature serves as a guide to local weekend activities.

There are numerous activities scheduled for this weekend in the Bayport-Blue Point area. Phantoms sports teams are participating in a variety of scrimmages and tournaments, and local venues feature live music and other events. Take a look at this weekend's happenings.
  • Boys swimming will participate in a multi-team scrimmage on Friday, 4 p.m., at Hauppauge Middle School, 600 Townline Road, Hauppauge.
  • Boys fencing vs. Centereach, 4 p.m., at Brentwood High School - Sonderling Building, 2 6th Ave, Brentwood.
  • Girls basketball vs. Sayville, 4 p.m., at Sayville High School, 20 Brook St, Sayville.
  •  happy hour starts at 3 p.m. and ends at 7 p.m. Live music by The Belairs begins at 8 p.m.
  • Blue Restaurant's Friday happy hour features half-priced drinks beginning at 4 p.m., with a DJ starting up at 5 p.m. On Saturday at Blue, a "Top 40" DJ sets up at 9:30 p.m. for Ladies Night.
  • Enjoy the music of the Frank Anthony Jazz Ensemble at Bliss2 in Blue Point. The ensemble performs from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. every Friday.
  • The boys fencing invitational at Brentwood, 7:30 a.m., 1 S 5th Ave, Brentwood.
  •  features live music by Double Down at 8 p.m. on Saturday.
  • Girls track at Bishop Loughlin, 9 a.m., 357 Clermont Ave, Brooklyn.
  • Saturday morning is the last in a series of six beginning yoga classes at , 10 a.m.
  • Boys track at crossover meet, 11:30 a.m., 1001 Crooked Hill Rd, Brentwood.
