Lighthouse Living, Jazz Concert Sum Up Sayville-Bayport Today

Tales of Lighthouse Living

The Sayville Library will host a special presentation from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. by Godfrey Mahler who will share his experiences living in the Fire Island Lighthouse while his father was the lighthouse keeper. The presentation includes photographs his father took from 1948 to 1954 while stationed there, as well as discussion of what it was like living there day-to-day, fulfilling lighthouse duties as well as attending the one-room schoolhouse.

Summer Concert in Sayville Park

This week's Wednesday in the Park event at the Common Ground in Sayville features a jazz dixie band, Linda Ipanema and the Jazz Dixie Cats, starting at 7 p.m. Bring a chair and some insect repellent.
