Scavenger Hunt Set for Saturday at the Common Ground

This Saturday is the Common Ground’s Scavenger Hunt.

This is the first Scavenger Run and Walk, which is also sponsored by Sayville Running Company. It will be held on Saturday, May 14 from 10 a.m. – noon, rain or shine, beginning at Rotary Park. All ages and abilities are welcome.

Proceeds will benefit events and maintenance at the Common Ground - home to various free community events throughout the year including concerts, races, workshops and classes.

Register online at www.thecommongrond.com or at the Sayville Running Company before Saturday to save money. The cost is $15 for those pre-registered and $20 on the day of the event. Registration is $25 per team (pre-registered) and $30 on the day of the event. Teams consist of two to four people. Registration will be available from 9 – 9:45 a.m. on Saturday.

Runners and Walkers will follow clues to various Sayville locations where they will take pictures or find special items. Points will be awarded for each clue found during a two-hour period. Scoring will vary for each clue based on difficulty and distance from park. Teams with the highest point totals will win special prizes. 

Teams must provide their own digital camera or cell phone camera and follow all traffic and safety laws when participating. 

T-Shirts will be guaranteed to the First 150 Participants.
