Rush Hour LIRR Trains Face Delays

Tuesday evening rush hour trains will still be affected by Monday's fire at the Long Island Railroad's switching tower.

The LIRR announced that eastbound trains on the Montauk line, which run to Sayville and Patchogue stations, will face a 20-minute delay going through Jamaica due to manual switching. Westbound trains in turn will face a 10-minute delay.

The following are the scheduled peak trains leaving Penn Station that are either traveling or connecting to Sayville and Patchogue LIRR stations. 

No transfers are necessary for the 5:09 p.m. out of Penn Station, which is also the shortest estimated trip at one-hour, 35 minutes to Patchogue. The longest estimated trip is the 5:23 p.m. departure, which is one-hour, 51 minutes to Patchogue. This train connects in Jamaica to the same train leaving Penn Station for Babylon at 5:36 p.m. where a connection can be made for Sayville and Patchogue.
