Reptiles Invade the Common Ground

Final Family Fridays event brings reptile and other creatures to Sayville.

The Family Fridays season concluded Friday night with Erik and his Reptile Edventures. This program, that was originally set for July and rained out, brought reptiles, amphibians and bugs to Sayville.

Erik brought cockroaches, anacondas, snakes, tree frogs, toads, turtles and an alligator to share with the kids at the Common Ground.

When asked about their favorite part of the show, the kids had many different reactions. "The big animals were silly. I liked the snakes, "said three-year-old Ali.

"I liked the frog, but not when it almost touched me," said Elena, also three-years-old. Both girls admitted that the ice cream man was a close second.

Although this was the last scheduled Family Friday event of the season, the Common Ground has many other events scheduled. Check out the calendar for details.
