The List: Summer Camps

Creations

During the month of July, Creations offers a full-day camp program for 3 through 7 year olds. Activities include arts and crafts, outdoor activities, and special daily events that take place throughout the spacious building and shaded, secured backyard. Presentations by the science and aquatic museums, martial arts, dance, drama, pony rides and petting zoo highlight the program. Click here for information.

SCOPE Program

SCOPE was founded in 1964 by school superintendents as a resource for school districts to use to help with common concerns. SCOPE two-sessions of summer camp at the Sayville Middle School. Click here for details.

SCOPE provides valuable tools and information for both parents and teachers on important issues such as child care and after school programs to teacher development courses and training programs. SCOPE is chartered by the New York State Board of Regents and governed by a Board of Directors that is made up of school superintendents and college representatives.

 

Town of Islip Camp Program

The Town of Islip offers many camps and recreational activities for all age groups. A Town of Islip identification card and pre-registration is required for participation. See the brochure here for details.

 

YMCA

The YMCA, with a new location in Patchogue, offers summer camp with various options available as far as times, dates and age levels. Registration must be done in person. Click here for more information.

 

Kamp Kasha

The , which was founded by a Sayville resident, recently announced Kamp Kasha, which is a registered camp by the Suffolk County Department of Health. Both half and full days are available at the Blue Point Location. For last year’s rates, register by May 15. For more information, click here.
