Oct. 28: Haunted House, Treat Trail and the 'Boo-Du'

Happy Friday! Keep the family busy with any one of the variety of Halloween festivities happening in Bayport-Blue Point- check our calendar for ideas. Bayport is lucky to be home to the Girl Scouts of Suffolk County's Camp Edey, where the is held. See what else is coming up in town and on Patch in our 5 Things.

1. Tonight at 7 p.m., the high school is hosting a Haunted House Fundraiser to benefit . Halloween weekend continues at the high school the following morning with a "Safe Halloween" event. This year, the students are raising money to restore the various memorials/gardens around town, and plan to donate remaining funds to St. Judes Children's Hospital.

2. The South Shore Duathlon, , is finally here! It's this Saturday from 1:45-3:15 at Corey Beach, the event's start and end location. The Boo Du consists of a 2-mile run, followed by a 13-mile bike ride, then another 2-mile run. The Chamber donates a portion of the race proceeds to the Bayport-Blue Point Outreach Fund which helps businesses and people in need within the community.

3. Which kid in America has the most creative Halloween costume in the pumpkin patch? That's what Patch intends to find out with your photos and the help of celebrity judge Heidi Klum, who will select the Grand Prize winner of Patch’s Little Pumpkin Costume Challenge.
