Oct. 17: Homecoming Victory Recap

A guide to what's happening in Bayport-Blue Point and on Patch Monday, Oct. 17.

1. It's at Bayport-Blue Point Library. Head over for the 1 p.m. showing of Moonstruck. This rated (PG) film is 102 minutes long and stars Cher, Nicolas Cage, Danny Aiello, Vincent Gardenia and Olympia Dukakis.

2. Our Phantoms Scoreboard provides updates on B-BP girls tennis, girls and boys soccer, and football this week at 10 a.m.

3. Click through our Homecoming photo gallery. Bayport-Blue Point High School students built floats championing certain causes to represent the 2011 Homecoming theme, "raising awareness."

4. Theresa Marie Smith Reilly was born on September 22, 1921 in Yonkers, New York. This RN and World War II Navy veteran eventually ended up in Bayport. Learn more about this 90-year-old naval nurse later on Patch.

5. Phantom pride was at its highest Saturday afternoon as the Phantoms pushed their weight around in the homecoming game against the Southampton Mariners, garnering a (60-6) win, their first of the season.
