New Years No-No's

Tips for maintaining a healthy lifestyle- year round.

It's time again! Even though it seems like I just made up my list of resolutions, another year has whizzed by. I know it can't be, but as one gets older, the years do feel a lot shorter.

Of course, everyone wants to live a long and happy life surrounded by love and good health. So here is my list of things you should never do if you want to remain healthy and happy.

1. NO margarine. It's unnatural and clogs your veins. Eat olive oil or butter in moderation. My Grandmother ate only butter and olive oil and she lived to be 89. She died from a fall or she would probably still be here.

2. NO unfermented dairy. Milk is bovine baby food. Wean yourself.

3. NO excessive sugar. It rots your teeth and slows down your metabolism. It increases free radicals. It's delicious but go easy.

4. NO overcooked vegetables. Raw is best, but cooked over high heat destroys any nutritional value. Lightly steam them.

5. NO cured meats. These are so full of things you should never ingest the list is too long to print.

6. NO meats with hormones or antibiotics. This is just common sense. You really ARE what you eat.

7. NO farmed fish. They are swimming in their own waste. I'm not eating that.

8. NO squishy white bread. Refer back to sugar. Whole grains are best if you are not celiac.

9. NO laying about. Get up and move around for at least a few minutes each day.  Go walking. Join a gym.

And the last thing you should never do is lost faith in yourself, you are a miracle. Completely one of a kind and unique. Nobody else looks like you (unless you are a twin, etc.) or has your perspective on life and the world. We are not supposed to all be the same. You embody Divine Perfection and Divine Order, remember that the next time you are berating yourself for some small thing.

Accept yourself with kind eyes. And I do wish all of you the best New Year.  We can all use one. Good health, happiness and joy, prosperity and kindness of heart to all of you dear people Welcome 2012!
