New Restaurant Set to Open on West Main Street

Fusion 84 will serve a mix of contemporary American and ethnic traditions.

The Sayville restaurant scene is getting a new addition - Fusion 84, a contemporary American eatery that will specialize in mixing traditional ethnic foods into new packages.

Diners can expect to find food like crab tacos (a mix of seafood and Mexican) on the menu.

"There will be lots of different influences," said Sean O'Brien, one of the business owners.

O'Brien has partnered with Michael Santiago and Larry Nemeroff to launch the venture, which is expected to open in mid-October.

In the meantime, O'Brien said he'll be hosting a series of cocktail parties with local business owners to get residents familiar with their product.

The owners are former Sayville businessmen who said they've returned to to the town because they like its feel. "Sayville's a great town," Nemeroff said.

And so the taxpayer is once again asked to give more to an already out of control and bloatedRead More system. Every year the school districts on Long Island receive increases of millions of dollars to their budgets, and still they want to bleed the taxpayer for more. As two income families struggle to pay exorbitant tax bills, we’re asked to pay even more? We’ll here’s a novel idea, how about if the teachers union’s began demanding less? This early retirement baloney must stop, salaries should be capped, administrators and their staffs must be cut by at least eighty percent. In addition, educators and staff should have to pay for their own medical and retirement plans just as the rest of us must. Here on Long Island, families are suffering and sacrificing, and many are being forced to leave due to taxes which are out of control. It is time for educators to cease hiding behind children with threats of decreased student programs, and to make an honest and realistic observation as to why things are as bad as they are. To blame parents for not paying enough into the system to support the schools is ludicrous. The real problem lies in a system which is self serving, and run by incompetents blind to the harm they are inflicting upon our children and families.
