Islip Shelter Pets of the Week

Meet this week's animals of the week

The Town of Islip Animal Shelter is home to many lovable dogs, cats, puppies and kittens that are desperately looking to join the right family.  The shelter takes great pride in providing a clean and caring environment for all of their pets

Meet Muggs. He is a boxer and American Staffordshire mixed breed who is neutered and up-to-date with all of his routine shots and vaccinations.

This boxer breed is more of a lover than a fighter. The Islip Animal Shelter says he loves playing and being around people. Muggs is one curious canine and he is always up to learning new tricks and games.

Contrary to his name, this pup never puts on a mug face. Not only is he quick to cozy up to people, but he enjoys being around other dogs and animal friends. The shelter describes him as a confident and happy dog who would do well in just about any family.

To find out more about Muggs, the shelter invites you to come in and meet him. His Pet ID Tag Number is 3351.

This lab is not your average Jo. He is a labrador retriever mix who is on the smaller side. Jo has a beautiful chocolate coat and he neutered and up-to-date with his routine shots.

The shelter describes this lovable lab as the sweetest guy in town. He would be a perfect fit for a family who is looking for a canine on the calmer side. He has had some training and knows all of his obedience commands. Jo is one friendly pup and he will even lend you a paw to say hello.

The shelter feels Jo would do well in a loving environment. To learn more about him, come to the shelter and meet him.

All animals at the shelter (210 South Denver Avenue, Bay Shore) are vaccinated, spayed and neutered before leaving. The organization requires a pet adoption fee along with a pet application which can be found on the their website.
