Islip Shelter Animals of the Week

It's "ruff" to be a dog with no home.

The Town of Islip Animal Shelter is home to many lovable dogs, cats, puppies and kittens that are desperately looking to join the right family.  The shelter takes great pride in providing a clean and caring environment for all of their pets.

The Islip Animal Shelter welcomes Jenny. She is a shepherd mixed breed dog. Jenny's colors are black and yellow and she is neutered and up-to-date with all of her routine shots and vaccinations.

This girl is one smart shepherd. The shelter says Jenny has already learned many of her basic obedience commands and she is ready to take her training to the next level.

Jenny is easy to train as she would do just about anything for a treat or a snack. When it comes to food, this dog does not fool around.

Jenny may be on the more intelligent side, but she still loves to play and get down with the dogs. Whether it's playing with people, a furry friend or even a toy, Jenny just loves to interact with others and enjoys being a social shepherd.

The shelter feels Jenny would make a great addition to any home and invites families to come in and meet her. Jenny's Pet ID Tag Number is 1253

Meet Ivan the terribly cuddly. This guy is an American Staffordshire Terrier who is neutered and up-to-date with all of his shots.

The shelter considers Ivan to be the friendliest of the doggy bunch. He is both an affectionate and attentive character who is all about the puppy dog love.

While Ivan does need some training, he is an excellent listener and he is eager to learn. The shelter says he is well worth the effort and the staff considers him to be a smart canine.

Ivan is a pup who really enjoys being around people and he would make a wonderful family member to any home willing to include him. Ivan's Pet ID Tag Number is 1137.

All animals at the shelter (210 South Denver Avenue, Bay Shore) are vaccinated, spayed and neutered before leaving. The organization requires a pet adoption fee along with a pet application which can be found on the their website.
