Islip Shelter Animals of the Week

Meet two pointer pups who want to be pointed toward a home.

The Town of Islip Animal Shelter is home to many lovable dogs, cats, puppies and kittens that are desperately looking to join the right family.  The shelter takes great pride in providing a clean and caring environment for all of their pets.

The shelter wants to point out a pointer pup. Cinnamon is an adult female pointer mix with ears as big as her personality. She sports a chocolate colored coat and she is neutered and up-to-date on all of her shots and vaccinations.

According to the Islip Animal Shelter, Cinnamon comes packed with many natural pointer abilities. This girl is great on the trail. She's a natural hunter so your backyard bird and squirrel friends may want to watch out! Cinnamon is best at play and she loves to retrieve and fetch.

In addition to bringing her A-game to the hunting grounds, Cinnamon is a very affectionate and loving canine. The shelter says she is not shy and would quickly warm up to any family who wants to take her home. Cinnamon's Pet ID Tag Number is 760.

The shelter is happy to introduce another pointer pup who loves to monkey around. Meet Darwin the dog. He is a pointer/rottweiler mix who is neutered and up-to-date with his routine shots.

Darwin's smile says it all. He is a happy boy who loves to hang around people. The shelter describes him as an active dog with a great personality. This guy always has a grin on his face and he would love to be apart of a family who can keep up with his high energy.

The shelter invites you to come in and meet Darwin. His Pet ID Tag Number is 543.

All animals at the shelter (210 South Denver Avenue, Bay Shore) are vaccinated, spayed and neutered before leaving. The organization requires a pet adoption fee along with a pet application which can be found on the their website.
