Islip Shelter Animals of the Week

Dish Out Some Puppy Love This Valentines Day

The Town of Islip Animal Shelter is home to many lovable dogs, cats, puppies and kittens that are desperately looking to join the right family.  The shelter takes great pride in providing a clean and caring environment for all of their pets

Spare some love for Sparrow. This little girl is a Jack Russell Terrier Mix with a coat as white as snow. Although she was born with a neurological condition, she has had an MRI test and the veterinarian reports Sparrow will live a normal and long life! The only thing that would make Sparrow’s life fuller and happier is if she had a family to love. The Islip Animal Shelter describes her as an energetic pup who loves to be around people. She is a jack of all terriers and is smart as she is affectionate. Sparrow is neutered and up-to-date with all of her routine shots. Her Pet ID Tag Number is 3405. If you’re interested in giving Sparrow a home, the shelter invites you to come in and meet her.

The Islip Animal Shelter welcomes a Belgian Shepherd Malinois breed dog, Nikki. This girl’s colors are black and gold and she is neutered and up-to-date on all of her routine shots and vaccinations. Nikki’s breed is an active one and the shelter says she enjoys playing with toys and chasing after balls. Nikki has beauty and brains. The shelter reports that she is highly intellectual and even has some herding instincts. If you think you can keep up with this pup and give her the exercise and training she needs, please come in and pay Nikki a visit! Her Pet ID Tag Number is 0160.

All animals at the shelter (210 South Denver Avenue, Bay Shore) are vaccinated, spayed and neutered before leaving. The organization requires a pet adoption fee along with a pet application which can be found on the their website.
