Irene Whips Bay Across Foster Ave. Docks, Parking Lots
It was a scene from some sort of disaster movie early this afternoon at the end of Foster Avenue in Sayville as Irene pushed bay water up and over docks, parking lots and into bay front house yards.
Dozens of residents slowly made their way down Foster Avenue early this afternoon as news got out that the Sayville Beach was getting its butt kicked by the Great South Bay courtesy of Irene. The docks were overcome, the beach was breached and a hip-high puddle lake blocked entrance to Land's End. It isn't often the bay is as angry was it was today.
