Happy Anniversary Butera's

Almost 90 percent of restaurants never make it to their first anniverary. Butera's of Sayville isn't one of them.

Chef and co-owner John Leach and partner Rober Osborn said they chose Sayville as their fourth Butera's location because they saw "what a wonderful town Sayville was. We started falling in love with all that Sayville has to offer. It’s full of nice people. The town is quaint and it mixes old with new. It’s cool.”

Of the four Butera’s locations on Long Island, Sayville is the only one currently offering family style portions (sized for sharing). Though they do have a bustling bar, it’s not their main focus. It’s more about the food and the dining experience.

Being able to share food not only saves people some money, but it gives them a chance to try different dishes.

Moving into their secon year, Buerta's is looking to expand their lunch menu and add a few things to the dinner menu. On and off-site catering is available and they anticipate a very busy holiday season, judging by how busy they were last year. Whether you are in the Smithtown, Woodbury, Seaford or Sayville location each dish will taste the same. “All cooks have been taught how to prepare the food so that it looks, tastes and smells the same no matter where you are," Leach said.

Leach added, “I cook to see people enjoy it. For me it’s the greatest high.” He has been a part of the Butera’s family for 14 years.
