Docs Reattach North Babylon Factory Worker's Hands After Accident
A Staten Island man did his best Wednesday to give a thumbs up to Stony Brook University Hospital doctors who reattached both his hands after an industrial accident. 

Kenneth Klapak, 53, is a sheet metal worker who had both his hands nearly severed off in an accident on May 16 while working for Anron in North Babylon. 

Barret Beyer Lends Culinary Skills To Devastated Oklahoma

Sachem alum and former contestant on FOX’s “Hell’s Kitchen” Barret Beyer recently returned from a trip to Oklahoma where he helped a team of chefs raise funds for families displaced by the devastating tornado that touched down in the state.

Describing the trip as an “awesome experience” Beyer teamed up with sausage giant Johnsonville and Crest Foods to help cook, serve and sell hundreds of bratwurst with all proceeds going to select families impacted by the twister.

Kelly Lupoli Is Medford Chamber's 2013 Member Of The Year

Kelly Lupoli was recently recognized as Medford Chamber of Commerce's 2013 Member of the Year.

According to a release from Assemblyman Edward Hennessey's office, Lupoli was recognized by the chamber as being integral in moving Country Fair Entertainment Park forward as one of the area's significant attractions and as being a team player and advocate for the entire Chamber membership.

Aponte Named Under Armour All-American

Nick Aponte’s lacrosse playing days at West Islip High School may have come to an end, but the senior will play one more game representing his hometown. 

A three-year varsity player for the Lions, Aponte was named to the Under Armour All-American team. He will play on the north squad Saturday, July 6, at Towson University’s Johnny Unitas stadium. The 8 p.m. game will be carried live on ESPNU.
