Flourish Teams Up with Wacoal for Breast Cancer Fundraiser

Local business holds 'Supporting the Girls' event.

The community came out recently to support at its fundraising event for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Teaming up with Wacoal, Flourish owner Jennifer Gross decided to pull the event together just last week. With every Wacoal Awareness bra or Embrace Lace bra purchased, $2 will go toward supporting the efforts of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation.

“The reason I wanted to do this fundraiser was really to just support the women and families affected by breast cancer,” Flourish owner Jennifer Gross said. “Since I am now carrying a product that directly relates to breasts and one that I will be profiting from, I feel an obligation to raise awareness and support the efforts of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure with Wacoal.

I coincidentally brought the line in during Breast Cancer Awareness month, and just got the bras in last week.”

As part of the fundraiser, Flourish donated $2 from each sale of a Wacoal bra. The store also offered customers free bra fittings as well as raffles, treats and pink champagne.

The hot pink bra from Wacoal was the first one to sell out, Gross said, and surprisingly so did many of the larger size bras. Many special orders were placed throughout the evening and the turnout was great for the first-time event, she added.

The Archipelago Ribbons of Love Candle and Reed Diffuser are also featured in the store. Ten percent of the sale of those items also go toward breast cancer awareness.
