Blue Point CPA Appointed to State Board

Accountant, professor, Blue Point resident Ernest Patrick Smith appointed to five-year term on State Board for Public Accountancy.

Blue Point resident and senior partner at Nawrocki Smith LLP, Ernest Patrick Smith, CPA/CFF, CVA, CFE, has been appointed by the Regents of the University of the State of New York to the State Board for Public Accountancy for a term from Oct. 1, 2011- Sept. 30, 2016.

As a State Board member, Smith is an important part of the Office of Professionals and will contribute to governing licensed professions.

As a senior partner in the firm of Melville-based Nawrocki Smith LLP, Smith heads the Special Services Practice, which includes areas such as Internal Audit, Internal Control Review and Evaluation, Forensic Accounting/Business Valuation/Dispute Resolution and Risk Management.

Smith is an adjunct professor of accounting in the Zarb School of Business at Hofstra University. He is a members of the AICPA and the New York State Society of CPAs.
