Early Morning Car Crash Leads to DWI Charge
Vehicle accident shut down Montauk Highway in Blue Point for four hours.
A car crash on Montauk Highway in Blue Point closed both lanes for four hours early this morning and the driver was arrested for DWI, according to Suffolk Police.
Todd Mahony, 30, of Medford, crashed a 2003 Acura just west of Division Avenue shortly before 3 a.m., police said. He was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital with minor injuries and was arrested and charged with DWI.
The highway section this morning was littered with glass fragments but no signs of any other crash indicators.
