Car Accident on Sylvan Avenue

A motor vehicle accident on Sylvan Avenue Thursday afternoon yielded no injuries.

Two drivers escaped injury in an accident that took place late this afternoon at 808 Sylvan Avenue in Bayport. While both cars suffered significant damage, the incident had little impact on rush hour traffic.

The Bayport Fire Department and Community Ambulance Company of Sayville arrived at the scene, and it was soon determined by rescue personnel that neither driver involved in the accident needed to be transported to a hospital.

While the exact circumstances that caused the accident were unknown to emergency personnel at the scene, the driver of the dark blue sedan, a woman, crashed into the woods nearby a home as she was driving north on Sylvan Avenue, said Bayport Fire Department's Second Assistance Chief Ryan Tomassone.
