Backpack Pirates Event a Success

At his district office in Holbrook this summer, Suffolk County Legislature Presiding Officer William J. Lindsay supported the Every Child’s Dream’s Backpack Pirates Program by collecting necessary school supplies for underprivileged local children.
 
“I appreciate all of the much-needed school supplies that were delivered to my office, and I thank everyone who participated in this act of kindness of neighbors helping neighbors,” Lindsay said.

“Ken has really organized a fantastic program where hundreds of children have the opportunity to go to Fire Island for the day, enjoy a picnic and entertainment, swim in the ocean and head home with a backpack filled with school supplies to start off the school year," Lindsay said, speaking of Ken Mangan, founder of Every Child’s Dream,
