#82 -- Eat Locally, It's Restaurant Week

Patch explores the Top 100 Things to Do in Sayville.

The sixth annual fall Long Island Restaurant Week promotion kicked off on Sunday but you still have plenty of time to dine locally. The specials run until Nov. 13 and there are plenty of options right here in town.

For Sayville restaurant-goers, this year’s participating restaurants include: Bistro 25, Blackbirds’ Grille, Butera’s Restaurant of Sayville, Café Joelle and la Tavola.

The eight-day promotion features a special prix fixe dinner offered by all restaurant participants throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties.

The idea is simple: for eight days, Sunday to Sunday, all participating restaurants offer a three-course prix fixe for $24.95 all night, except Saturday when it will be offered only until 7 p.m. Each restaurant offers its own unique menu.

On the menu at , you will find appetizers like butternut bisque, roasted beet salad and mussels meuniere. Entrees include braised short ribs, pan seared salmon, roasted french breast of chicken, and pappardelle pasta. For dessert, you will find carrot cake bread pudding, apple strudel and lemon blackberry tarte.

At , you can start with chicken and shrimp dumplings, tomato caprese or Massachusetts mussels. Entrees include chicken piccata, lemon and peppercorn salmon, filet mignon Rockefeller, jumbo jambalaya and marinated pork tenderloin. Desserts offered include key lime pie, baked caramel apple ala mode and chocolate mousse.

is offering their family style dining option for the week. For starters, couples can choose from eggplant rollatini, caesar salad, stuffed mushrooms or soup of the day. Entree choices are penne eggplant, spaghetti and meatballs, pasta primavera, rigatoni butera, rigatoni shrimp and chicken vodka, rigatoni caprese, chicken/eggplant/veal parmesan, chicken gorgonzola/piccata/marsala/tricolor/sorrentino/spinach and peppers. Cheesecake or cannoli are offered for dessert.

At , starters include fried calamari, stuffed clams, beef and been chili quesadilla, potato and cheddar cheese pierogies, soup or salad. Dinner options are fresh fish of the day, sauteed breast of chicken, sauerbraten, roast fresh brisket, pork panzanella, shrimp and calamari fra diavolo, rigatoni ala vodka, penne with chicken piccata, and butternut squash ravioli. Dessert selections change daily.

, diners can start with the soup of the day, pan roasted sea scallop, pumpkin risotto, grilled romaine, roasted eggplant and tomato crostini, or steamed mussels. For dinner, guests can choose from half roasted Long Island duckling, grilled salmon, pork shank, short ribs, french breast chicken, grilled swordfish, pumpkin ravioli, tagliatelle and shrimp or grilled New York shell steak. Save room for dessert because you can pick from pineapple upside down cake, flourless chocolate cake, homemade donut or nutella and amaretto panna cotta.
