A Boat from the 80's

I want a boat.... to own and be the captain of, one preferably from the 80's please.

Unfortunately, I can count on one hand how many times I've been on a boat.

I've been sailing with my father-in-law, brother-in-law and husband on the sound near Port Jeff; the motor died (or something nearly traumatic) happened in the middle of the water. Sweet first-time sailing experience.

We've taken a row boat out on the bay in Setauket that my parents inherited when they moved into their house; it took more energy to get the 200lb piece in to the water than actually rowing. I must say, there's something pathetic about rowing in a pale seafoam green chipped painted plexi-glass boat while tons of speed boats, jet-skis, etc zip pass you.

So while we lived in California, for Brendan's 27th birthday, we camped at Lake (eh something?) and rented motor boats with a few friends and joy-boated around until our beers ran out. And while we were in Montana at Glacier National Park for our friends wedding, the bride and groom took us out on their amazing little boat in Great Falls. We squeezed 8 of us on there, and it was amazing. I can still picture the trees and mountains that surrounded us on that boat trip. Spectacular!!

Okay so there may have been one or two other instances when I was little that I went out on a boat (ferrys and cruise ships do not count), but these have been my only boating experiences (aside from rafts, kayaks and canoes) in the last 15 + years.

The other night after work, Brendan and I went down to the docks in Sayville. We walked around and checked out all the boats and goofed about owning this one or that one. B suggested that we buy a jet-ski and then tow a raft of our friends over to fire island. I told him that wasn't allowed on my seas.

On our way back, I spotted a Bayliner. It's so cute and I thought, that would actually be perfect for us. So right then and there I decided, we're getting a boat!!!!!!

To entertain the idea, I started looking at Bayliners online... and then other ones. Here's what I think - a 19 -21 (at first I said 'inch' but then immediately realized how ridiculous that would be) foot motor-type boat from the 80's. It has to be from the 80's because I want to refurbish it, and I just think it has to be quirky to fit our personality.
