Up until the 1960s, the Rosenthal company's focus was to create classic, traditional designs attractive to all buyers, marketed under Classic Rose brand. In 1961, Philip Rosenthal, Jr. launched the Rosenthal Studio-Linie, a tabletop line that employed 100 famous artists and designers to give everyday home-decor products , such as the elegant fine crystal glasses featured here, a creative, stylish, contemporary, international and sophisticated statement of taste and grace.
The Fuga pattern was introduced in the late 60's and these particular glasses were purchased in what was then West Berlin in 1977. They have been bubble wrapped and carefully stored for over 30 years and contain no chips, cracks nor other imperfections; many in the collection were never used. Each stem is embossed "Rosenthal Studio Linie" as proof of authenticity. Each place setting contains one of each: Champagne Flute (9 3/4"H); Burgundy Red Wine Glass (7 1/2"H); White Wine Glass (7 5/8"H); Water (or Beer) Goblet (6 1/2"H); Cordial Glass (4 1/2"H). There are eight (8) five piece place settings available.
