Sayville-Bayport Biz Beat: New Boutique, Sale Rumors & What's Ahead Next Week

A new retailer appears out of the blue to offer up unique jewelry and fashion items but some familiar names may soon be gone from Sayville business district.

Sometimes the best things just come out of the blue, and one of Sayville’s newest retailers illustrates that saying nearly perfectly. Actually perfectly.

Out of the Blue, at 52 South Main Street, next to the now-empty Goddess store and just west of Butera’s restaurant, is a women’s accessories store that open very quietly in the past week. There is literally something for every fashion need, from rings and bracelets and earrings and necklaces, to scarves and hair clips and pocketbooks.

The owners promised to sit down with Patch next week to get the inside scoop on why they chose Sayville, their quest to bring new items at affordable prices to the downtown area and how they use some innovative technology to help keep operations costs down.

But as new stores come into the business district, others are rumoured to be leaving soon, including Past and Presents and the toy store Mother Goose which is supposedly for sale for $439,000.

Another rumour has a tailor shop possibly opening in the former Silica storefront and maybe a baked potato eatery place though it's likely not happening as a Bayport-based frozen yogurt shop is expanding with a new location slated for the Stop and Shop center which likely is the only available place for a food enterprise at this point.
