West Sayville Resident to Lead Long Island Chapter MS Board

Paul J. Rowland has been an eight-year board trustee for National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Long Island Chapter.

West Sayville resident Paul J. Rowland has been named chairman of the board of trustees at the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Long Island Chapter.

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Long Island Chapter serves more than 42,000 people affected by multiple sclerosis (MS) in Nassau and Suffolk counties offering over 60 programs and services while raising funds for critical research initiatives.

Rowland has been a board member for eight years. He actively serves on the Executive Committee and Programs Committee and continues to lead his Walk MS team to be one of the top fundraising teams. In addition to his recent assignment as chairman, Rowland was recently honored by an appointment to National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s Northeast Regional Volunteer Leadership Council.

“I am honored to be a part of an organization that positively impacts our community affected by multiple sclerosis. It is my goal to expand the Board of Trustees with members who are willing and able to address the tough challenges our members face each day, “said Rowland.

Rowland, FACHE is currently the senior vice president for strategic planning at Sound Shore Health Systems (SSHS). In his leadership position, Rowland manages the strategic and business plan development, capital projects, government relations and a few operating departments.

He is a Fordham University undergraduate and received his Masters in Social Work – Public Policy, Planning and Research from Fordham’s Graduate School of Social Services. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and currently serves as the Chairman of New York State Data Protection Review Board.

Rowland is an active member of the Board of IPRO, a national organization focused on improving healthcare quality. He has also been recently named to the Board of the Visiting Nurse Association of Hudson Valley.
