Visions for Vacancies: What Would You Like to Open at Stadtmullers?

The historic Sayville jewelery store will close early March. What would be a good fit for the Main Street storefront?

Come March 6 Sayville's beloved Stadtmullers Jewelers will close after over 150 years in business.

The prominent Main Street storefront is big and could house any type of retail operation. What would you like to see move in? Comment below and we'll share readers' feedback early next week.

So sad to see this close down. It's been there since I was a little boy. Another jewelry store should open up there.

Why not a clothing store like Ann Taylor loft or gap? Huntington and northport do

Maybe Violets Blue can come back. That store was fabulous!

Retail for sure. It will be sad seeing it go. I knew the fam; they are to this day fantastic people. Im sure the decision didn't come easy. I go for stores like AT, gap or the like. No more eateries. I miss the artisan stores that were plentiful in sayville just 10 years ago, but couldn't make the rent. No more pharms, banks, credit unions, etc. Something with class (not more junk) with moderate prices.......and gluten-free! :)

If your looking for a hair salon Salon 36 at 36 Railroad Avenue is the best in Sayville. Try them...

...Hair Salon comment was meant to be a joke, there seem to be about 20 in a 2 mile radius.
